The volunteers of Havant will be recognised and rewarded for their hard work and dedication when the borough’s volunteer awards return in June.

The Havant Volunteer Awards, organised by Community First and Havant Borough Council, will not only recognise the time and energy given by volunteers to organisations across the borough, but will also be an opportunity to celebrate the enthusiasm of local volunteers who make such a difference to the lives of many residents.

Local volunteers can now be nominated for an award for the outstanding work they do in the community.

Havant Borough Council, working in partnership with Community First, are keen to receive nominations from groups or individuals who wish to nominate selfless volunteers who have dedicated their time and energy to improve people’s lives.

There are six categories in which people can be entered for, these are:

  • Young Volunteer of the Year
  • Small Team of the Year
  • Large Team of the Year
  • Unsung Hero
  • Mayor’s Special Commendation
  • Lifetime Achievement

Anyone wishing to recommend a remarkable person or team can do so via www.havant.gov.uk/community-and-living

Nominations must be received by 5pm on Tuesday 16 April.  Those selected will then be invited to attend an awards ceremony later in the year.
