Physical activity is good for your mental health

World Mental Health Day took place last Saturday 10 October and Medway Sport highlighted (on our social media pages) the different ways in which we can look after our own wellbeing. The Mental Health Foundation list practical ways in how we can look after our mental health.  One of these ways is to keep active by doing regular exercise – evidence shows that physical activity releases chemicals in your brain that boost your mood and helps you feel better.

You can enjoy a great exercise session at our three sports centres at Medway Park, Strood and Hoo. Our centres are COVID-19 compliant and offer a safe environment in which to exercise.  Whether you fancy a steady swim, a sweaty spin class, lifting weights or challenging a friend to a game of badminton, our staff will be happy to see you.

All activities must be booked online. Don’t forget:

– Premier Members can book 14 days in advance

– All other members…it’s 10 days in advance

– Non-members can book 3 days in advance

Coronavirus (COVID-19) update

Under the latest COVID-19 Alert Levels, Medway is in Alert Level 1: Medium Risk.

This means our sports centres remain open under our online booking service and we will continue to follow COVID-19 guidelines.

You will need to continue wearing your face covering when moving around our sports centres. Face coverings don’t need to be worn during your workout but you must put your covering back on immediately after the session before leaving the building.

Coronavirus hasn’t gone away – by working together we can prevent more cases and keep Medway safe.
