Picture Medway – A young persons perspective
You have until 18 February to come along to the Medway Archives Centre to see the ‘Picture Medway’ exhibition. This collection of photographs explores what Medway means to Medway’s young people. Everyone is welcome to come and browse (check website for opening hours).
If you’d like help with a project or research talk to one of the team who will be delighted to help. You can also book an appointment for a private viewing of one of our collections. Or why not attend one of our special events, talks or exhibitions?
Don’t worry if you’re unable to visit us, you can even search the Archives from home via our website.

Help uncover your family history with Kent Family History Society
For anyone who wants advise about family history, creating a family tree, or overcoming a block in their timeline, come along and talk to Kent Family History Society volunteers.
The volunteers are incredibly supportive and a mine of useful information.
Tuesdays & Thursdays between 9:30am and 12 noon. (Thursdays are usually a little quieter)
Booking essential. A one hour slot with a volunteer can be booked by phoning the MAC
Exhibition: Picture Medway
Come and admire the photography created by talented young people of Medway as part of the Picture Medway Project.
Budding photographers were given the challenge to capture for posterity what Medway means to them, and the results couldn’t be more diverse.

Exhibition: Pembroke
A Pictorial Journey from Naval Barracks to University Campus, is a visual history of Pembroke using photographs from the Local Studies Collections, and is a tantalising taster of the many images that we hold.

Exhibition: Women Power
An exhibition celebrating group action, education and comradeship, featuring material held in our archives and with contributions from local Soroptimists, Women’s Institutes and Girl Guides.
See how these organisations have shaped and enhanced the lives of local women and how they have helped to record life in Medway’s towns and villages in the last 100 years.
Runs from 2 March until 19 May

Special Event: Women Power
Celebrating group action, education and comradeship in Medway and beyond.
This event linked to the Women Power exhibition, and ties in with International Women’s Day. Additional materials will be available that provide a fascinating insight into the role of women and women’s organisations.
This event is made possible with the support of the Women’s Institute, local Soroptimists and the Girl Guides.
