Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Havant pay tribute to the fallen

On Sunday 10 November The Mayor of Havant, Councillor Diana Patrick, will take part in the annual Remembrance Day parade and service.

The parade will gather at the Royal British Legion on Brockhampton Lane in Havant at 10.15am and will be accompanied by The Hampshire and Isle of Wight Army Cadet Force Band. The parade will march to the War Memorial via Park Road South, Elm Lane and North Street at 10.40am.

A short ceremony, with the laying of wreaths, will be held at 10.50am, before the congregation move inside St Faith’s Church for the Service of Remembrance.  Afterwards, the parade will head back to Brockhampton Lane, once the salute has been taken by the Mayor of Havant and the Deputy Lieutenant jointly.

All those intending to take part in the parade and service are being reminded that medals should be worn.

The Deputy Mayor, Councillor Prad Bains, will be attending two Remembrance parades and services on Sunday.

The first will be held at Elm Grove war memorial, Hayling Island from 10am with a service being held at St Mary’s Church.  The second one will take place at St James’ Church, off North Street Emsworth at 3pm.  The parade will leave Queens Street at 2.30pm.

On Armistice Day, Monday 11 November, the Mayor of Havant will attend a service and wreath laying at The Friends of Emsworth Memorial Garden at 11am, whilst Deputy Mayor of Havant will attend the Armistice Service at St Faith’s Church, Havant
