Margate Football Club and St Lawrence College launch International Football Academy

Margate Football Club and St Lawrence College are very proud to announce a pioneering partnership to deliver an International Football Academy.

St Lawrence College and Margate FC are working in partnership to offer a post 16 football academy. The academy will give students from the UK and around the world the opportunity to study whilst training and playing at a high level.

The academy will have its first intake in September 2019, with the application process open from September 2018. St Lawrence College will process all applications and will be responsible for providing all the education, accommodation, food, pastoral care and support needed by international applicants.

Margate FC Chairman Ricky Owen said of the partnership “This is a rare opportunity for Margate Football Club to work with such a prestigious School and I would like to thank Antony Spencer, Principal of St Lawrence College, for his work in helping set up the partnership.

The programme aims to attract talented young players between the ages of 16 to 19, from all over the UK and around the world. This academy is huge for the club on many levels, and we have already started working with several global partners to make this a success.”

St Lawrence College provides world class education for boys and girls from 3 to 18 years. The private school is set in a stunning campus, housing both day and boarding pupils from UK and international families. The school offers modern facilities with traditional values combined with a deep cultural heritage, with the school founded in 1879. Strong pastoral care, high quality teaching and a great emphasis on extra-curricular activity make it the perfect community in which to live and learn.
