A new way of offering advice and support to customers, called the Maldon MAC, is to be trialled at Maldon District Council from Thursday 5 April.

The new initiative, known as “ The Maldon MAC ” (Multi-Agency Centre) is a six month pilot scheme which will take place on the first Thursday of each month between 11am and 1pm in the Customers Area at Maldon District Council.

Thursday 5 April 2018 will see Maldon District Council host the first “Maldon MAC” open to the public between 11am and 1pm which will see a range of partner agencies  come together to provide help and support for members of the public who may have more than one issue to resolve.

Councillor Bob Boyce MBE, Chairman of Community Services Committee, said “The Maldon MAC is designed to provide multiple agencies in the same place at the same time provide free support and advice to local residents. We expect this to be particularly helpful for people dealing with more complex issues.

“With several agencies in one place, residents can visit us to resolve more than one issue, with less paperwork and form filling. We are very much looking forward to working with our partner agencies to host this service for local people.”

Below is an  example of some of the many  participating agencies:-

  • Maldon District Council – Council Tax issues including discounts and exemptions, housing benefit claims.
  • Maldon Citizens Advice – Confidential and impartial advice on issues affecting people’s lives including budgeting and life events
  • Provide Essex Lifestyle Service – bespoke 1-1 healthy lifestyle advice, support and signposting.
  • Mid and North East Essex Mind – Support for people living with a mild to moderate mental health problem
  • Maldon and District Community Voluntary Service
