Do you, your family and friends want to make a difference to your local community and help clear it of litter? The Love Your Chelmsford team at Chelmsford City Council are calling for volunteers of all ages to join them at their next litter pick event.

The litter pick will take place on Thursday 30 May during the May half term school holidays and the group will be meeting at 10am at Springfield Hall Car Park. The group will then pick litter in the surrounding areas of Chelmer Valley Local Nature Reserve, making their way down towards the city centre. The litter pick will end at 11am.

Love Your Chelmsford’s litter picking events aim to bring the community together as well as educate people about the harm litter can cause to the environment.

Everyone is welcome to come along to the litter pick but please note that children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. All equipment will be provided; however volunteers are asked to wear sturdy footwear and suitable clothing.

The Love Your Chelmsford initiative aims to improve the quality of the environment in the Chelmsford area. If you would like to join the council’s fight against litter, please email [email protected].
