Local groups get set for Info and Fun day

Residents of Aylesham are welcome to explore an Information and Fun Day to be held at Aylesham Welfare & Leisure Centre between 11am and 2pm on Saturday 16 November.

One of the highlights will be a free ‘pick your own veggie’ stir fry provided by Summer Kitchen, a Thanet charity which works with schools to deliver free meals outside of term times.

Visitors with a sweet tooth can enjoy a free cream tea and there will be plenty of fun things to do.

Bechange and Sunflower Children’s Centre will be offering a range of arts and crafts activities, East Kent Climate Action Group will be give away native tree saplings, there will also be a tree quiz, a tombola, a treasure hunt and bauble decorating.

Advice and guidance will be available from a range of health, wellbeing and training providers including the Rail Training Academy and Dover Marine Services, NHS One You free health checks, the Shaw Trust, Renew 61, Take off, the National Careers Service and DWP support services.

The event also offers residents a chance to find out more about some of the local groups in the village who will include the Aylesham Hub and the Aylesham Singers.

The event has been arranged by local partners including Bechange, Your Leisure, DWP, NHS and Dover District Council.
