Next steps for the district’s local plan

The Planning Policy team at Braintree Distinct Council would like to thank everyone who took the time to respond to the recent Technical Section 1 Examination Consultation.

The consultation centred around 12 documents of additional evidence being submitted to the Planning Inspector supporting the development of three new garden communities in Braintree, Colchester and Tendring.

All comments are now available to read on our website: www.braintree.gov.uk/neatechS1

Next steps for the local plan:

  • The additional documents and your comments have been sent to the Planning Inspector.
  • The Planning Inspector will announce the timetable for the next steps in the examination as soon as possible. This will include dates for further hearing sessions.
  • At the end of the examination the Planning Inspector will produce a report setting out his conclusions and recommendations.
