To help mark the NHS’s 70th birthday, buildings, historic monuments and other high profile sites across the country will be lighting up blue on the evening of Thursday, 5 July. People are encouraged to take photos and share them via social media using the hashtags: #NHS70 and #LightUpBlue.

A spokesperson for NHS England North said:

“We have some great iconic buildings taking part and would love more buildings across the North to get involved and to light up blue on the evening of  5th July.  We are calling on churches, mosques, castles, historic homes and any large buildings in towns, cities and villages to get involved and light up blue if they have the facilities to do so.”
