Help needed – sending 100 Christmas presents to 100 children in Nicaragua

After visiting and volunteering in a beautiful Nicaraguan community, Loma Fria, Max Vernieuwe was taken aback by the community’s poverty but inspired by their enchanting nature.

Upon Vernieuwe’s return to the UK, he and his good friend Davie Loveridge put their heads together to come up with an incredible fundraising idea to help the community in Nicaragua who touched their hearts.

They’d like to be able to send Christmas gifts to every child in the community in order for them to enjoy a festive experience unlike any other they’ve had before.  On his GoFundMe page Vernieuwe explains: “Struck with poverty, these amazingly kind people live off of approximately £3.50 per day for a family up to 8.

“With your help, we will be sending 100 shoe boxes to the community for the 100 children who live there, from as young as 10 months up to 14 years old.”

100% of the proceeds will go towards the shoe boxes which will be filled with gifts and sent to the families who have very little in the way of possessions, but hearts full of love and kindness.

This is where you come in.  If you are able to give a donation of money, however small, please find the GoFundMe page, here.  Alternatively, if you are able to supply any goods you may have lying around the house that are no longer needed (such as secondhand kids clothes, old toys, games, etc.) then your point of contact is Davie, who can be found on Facebook under ‘Davie Dolcie’.

A Christmas card will be sent with each box including the names of everyone who has helped this wonderful cause.

Spread the Christmas cheer, and get involved with Max and Davie’s fantastic fundraiser, today!
