Purple Tuesday – Havant Borough Council goes purple

Havant Borough Council (HBC) will go purple on Tuesday 12th November to join in with Purple Tuesday.

Purple Tuesday is a campaign which aims to change the customer experience for people with disabilities.

Those taking part must make a pledge which will improve the experience for disabled people using their services.

HBC is pledging to deliver disability awareness training to all staff so that they know how best to accommodate residents with any disability. The council will also review its website for accessibility and make any necessary improvements.

Brian Wood, Head of Customer Services at Havant Borough Council said: “It is really important to us that everyone has a positive customer experience, regardless of disability.

“We are dedicated to making sure of this every day of the year but taking part in Purple Tuesday is a great way to show the public our commitment.”

During the day, the council will be turning purple by sharing stories from across its services. Follow us on Facebook and Twitter to see all our updates.
