Dickens’s festival, Rochester: 2nd-3rd June

Welcome to a weekend of colourful celebration, enlightening entertainment and Dickensian discovery, as we honour one of England’s greatest writers. From costumed parades and street acts to competitions, readings and a fair, Rochester’s streets and green spaces will be awash with entertainment.

Join us for the spectacular parades of Dickensian characters and Victorian costumes, all led by the Mayor of Medway. The parade will form at the Star Hill end of the High Street and move along to its junction with Corporation Street, before making its way into Rochester Castle Gardens.

12noon – Grand Parade
4.45pm – Afternoon Parade
5pm – Music Hall Finale

Please make yourself known to stewards if you want to take part.

A Park & Walk facility will operate from Jacksons Field, Rochester (ME1 2AB). Opening at 10am.

There will be a £2 parking charge per vehicle (free to Blue Badge holders).

Maidstone Food & Drink Festival: 1st-3rd June 2018

The beautiful setting of Mote Park provides the perfect venue for the second annual Maidstone Food & Drink Festival. Mouth watering street food, groceries and speciality drinks from local, national and international sources will ensure visitors do not leave hungry. There will be a bar area offering the best of British and International craft beers and ales, as well as ciders and Prosecco to be enjoyed whilst listening to a great line-up of live music. Especially for the children there will be a chalk graffiti wall and a selection of fairground rides, ensuring there is something for everyone and making the weekend a fun, memorable experience for the whole family.
