Great Baddow Races

The local event of the year has to be The Edmund Carr Great Baddow Charity Races on Sunday 19th May at the Great Baddow Recreation Ground organised by Chelmsford Mildmay and Chelmsford Rivermead Rotary Clubs.

There’s a 10 mile Road Race for committed athletes and 2 mile Fun Run for children and families. The Fun Run pre-race rates are reduced this year to encourage more youngsters to take part. Also being recognised for the first time are older age groups in the 10 mile with Trophies for 50-59,60-69,70+. Every finisher will receive a medal.

Apart from the Races the event will be a great day out for all ages and will feature guests including Hospital Radio and Dave Monk of BBC Essex who will be interviewing some of the finishers. In addition to refreshment and food stands there will be a variety of stalls, Baddow Races T-shirts, amusements, racing cars, plants, balloons, face painting, sports wear, photography, jewellery, models, Essex Reptile Centre and many more.

Funds raised from the Races will support Kids Inspire, CHESS Homeless, The J’s Hospice and other local charities but all entrants can support their own charities through sponsorship. Come along on the day. More details at baddowraces.co.uk.

Thanks go to all sponsors including D&B Scaffolding Limited, Teledyne e2v, M&G Investments, Allied Vehicle Rentals Ltd, Polar Creative and Great Baddow Parish Council.
