Get going with coastal rowing

Get active and try something new at Get up and Go’s coastal rowing open day.

The coastal rowing free open day will be a chance to speak with instructors, meet other keen rowers and get on the water to learn the basics.

Taking place on Saturday 6 July, from 10am – 4pm, at Northney Marina, Hayling Island, residents can turn up at any time during the day with no need to book.

If you then decide that coastal rowing really floats your boat, you can sign up for new courses starting in July.

Suitable for all abilities, the coastal rowing courses are aimed at residents aged 55 and above. Sessions begin on Wednesday 10 July and take place at the marina each Wednesday from 3pm and 6pm for six weeks. The first session is completely free and just £4 each week thereafter.

Get Up and Go is a Havant borough project funded by Hampshire County Council. The aim of the project is to help encourage everyone to move more, especially those who are not active due to a health condition or struggling financially. Activities with limited spaces will be prioritised to these residents of the borough.
