Festive Celebrations for Ledian Gardens

Future residents of Kent’s newest retirement village, Ledian Gardens, joined operator Inspired Villages in a pre-Christmas celebration at Chilston Park, Lenham, near Maidstone.

Purchasers of the one and two-bedroom apartments for Over 65s welcomed the news that 10% of the first phase has now been reserved off-plan.

Work began on the Leeds village site earlier this month, after Kier were announced as the developers of the first phase, which will include a swimming pool, spa and Wellness Centre, as well as a restaurant, library and village shop serving the local community.

Inspired Villages’ sales suite is scheduled to open in May 2020 and the first residents can hope to move into the village, on the site of the old Ledian Farm, Upper Street, during Spring 2021.

Inspired Villages hosted a festive afternoon tea at Chilston Park, following a Discovery Day when visitors were able to step inside the various apartments, using the latest in modern technology.

The 7th village in the Inspired portfolio, Ledian Gardens is expected to be the flagship for the company’s future villages.

Group Sales and Marketing Director James Cobb said: “Interest in Ledian Gardens has been exceptional. Here, at Inspired Villages, we do things differently as we believe later life is something to be celebrated and enjoyed.

“We believe retirement can – and should be – the best years of your life. Our residents are not downsizing – they are ‘rightsizing’ and enjoying a quality of life you would expect from a 5* hotel – only every day of their lives.”

Guests at the afternoon tea were spellbound by Tunbridge Wells magician Adam Smith’s sleight of hand and enjoyed a head-scratching Christmas quiz. The winner – Mrs Margaret Rawson from Essex, who is moving into the village to be nearer her son and family in Langley – was presented with an M&S Christmas cake by quizmaster Jane Shotliff, Inspired Villages’ Community Liaison Manager for Ledian Gardens.

All guests were given a festive goodie bag to take home, containing a selection of Kentish-made chocolates, gin and soaps.

Inspired Villages, a leading operator of retirement villages, owns and operates six other villages around the UK. Ledian Gardens is the first the company has developed since partnering with Legal & General in 2017.

Prices for the homes at Ledian Gardens start from £275,000. For more information about apartments and to register for the next Discovery Day, please contact Community Liaison Manager, Jane Shotliff on 07799 714365 or email [email protected].
