We’re celebrating all things thriller and historical fiction this month, with an internationally-renowned Author of the Month.

Ken Follett was awarded a CBE in 2018 for services to literature, with his debut novel, Eye of the Needle featuring on the 2019 BBC promotion, ‘The Novels That Shaped Our World’A master of the craft of creating page-turning novels, there is truly something for everyone in Ken Follett’s work – from adventure to espionage, with meticulously researched period detail and nail-biting plots.

READ AN EBOOK WEEK | 3-9 MARCH

Borrowing books and audiobooks has never been easier, and what better time to celebrate our digital offering than Read an eBook Week?

With 100s of titles to choose from, our eBook provider BorrowBox allows you to browse and download eBooks and audiobooks to your device – perfect for reading and listening on the go!

We also run an online book group on Facebook, where members can vote on a new title to discuss each month.

WORLD BOOK DAY 

This Thursday is World Book Day, where children of all ages come together to appreciate reading – very loudly and happily!

We’re all about encouraging children to explore the pleasures of reading, which is why we’ll be stocking the 12 books from this year’s booklist for children to borrow from the library from early March onwards.
