The Stables Nursery

Welcome to The Stables Nursery in Chelmsford!  The nursery is privately owned and managed by Susan Mann and Avis Richardson. When they established the nursery in 1993 their aim was to provide an environment that was warm, safe, well-resourced and stimulating. An environment that they would want for their own children and now grandchildren is paramount!

The nursery operates 6 rooms for children aged from 3 months to 5 years.  Each room creates a secure environment where, through play and exploration. Children can grow in confidence, develop to their full potential and above all thoroughly enjoy their time at The Stables Nursery. Their happiness is paramount!

Our most valuable resource is our large team of dedicated staff who implement the ‘Early Years Foundation Stage’, the framework which sets standards for the learning, development and care of children from birth to 5 years old. Our team oversees the development of each and every child at the nursery and has vast experience of meeting the individual requirements of children with additional needs (please refer to our Local Offer).

We take full advantage of our large and secure outdoor play area and access to the nearby common. The children enjoy exploring the natural environment as often as possible. They regularly use the common for activities such as nature walks, den building and weather exploration.

Admissions

The Stables Nursery is open from Monday-Friday, 8am-6pm. Parents can arrange with room leaders to bring their children in at 7.30am at extra cost.

The nursery opens all year apart from bank holidays, public holidays and the weekdays between Christmas Eve and New Year. The nursery does not charge for these holidays.

All day sessions (8am-6pm), morning sessions (8am-1pm) and afternoon sessions (1pm-6pm) are available. Parents are free to drop off and collect their children as and when is convenient for them.

We offer 15 and 30 hour funded places for those eligible and we also accept all major childcare vouchers.
