Day of the Dead Halloween celebrations for Ashford town centre

From a fang-tastic Halloween trail to ghoulishly good entertainment, there’s plenty of family fun to be had at Loveashford’s Day of the Dead Halloween event.

If you’re looking for ways to keep your little monsters entertained during half term, join Loveashford for a free Halloween celebration across Ashford Town Centre on Saturday 26 October between 11am and 6pm.

From 11am, collect a free Halloween trail map from The Glass House on the lower High Street; complete the route around the town, collecting letters to spell out a secret message, then head back to The Glass House to claim your prize*!

From 12pm – 4pm in Park Mall, little ones can get their face painted, then make flower crowns and skull masks with Emporia Fabric and Crafts, plus have their photos taken with a friendly scarecrow in the Pumpkin Patch zone.

But that’s not all! Head down to outside the PictureHouse in Elwick Place from 2pm where you can listen to iconic tunes from Disney’s Coco performed by a live acoustic guitarist and watch out for wizardly dance moves performed by a Harry Potter Flash Mob.

Keep an eye out for the spooky stilt walkers as they roam through the town centre and listen to the fabulous line-up of live music on the bandstand organised by Revelation Ashford from midday. Hear Swing Noir at 12pm and 2pm, Miss Jones at 1pm and Gypskazz Trio at 3pm.

Spice up your lunch with some tasty Mexican food from Taco Bill which will be located outside The Glass House, or a Mexican inspired salad box from Salata. Restaurants across the town centre will have Mexican goodies on offer too.

Building the buzz for Halloween, Revelation Ashford are kicking off October half term by showing a double dose of Disney films on Wednesday 23 October. Watch day-of-the-dead inspired Coco at 1pm, followed by The Aristocats at 3.30pm. Tickets cost 50p per person and can be purchased through Revelation Ashford’s website, on the door or via the Tourist Information Centre, which is located on the ground floor at Ashford Gateway Plus.

County Square is also getting in to the spirit of Halloween with their Spooky Shopping event on Friday 25 October from 10.30am – 4.00pm. Spend £10 or £20 at County Square to participate in the Halloween event where you’re guaranteed to win a prize. Bring along your receipts to the Halloween witches to take part in the lucky dip.
