Officers appeal for dash cam footage after A2 assault

Officers investigating an assault of a woman on the A2 have launched a dash cam footage appeal to drivers who may have been present at the time.

The woman was reported to have been assaulted inside a vehicle travelling coastbound on the A2 between Bexley and Gravesend between 1.10pm and 1.40pm on Tuesday 6 March.

Officers attended the area and arrested a 31-year-old man in Valley Drive, Gravesend, on suspicion of assault.

Kent Police would like to hear from any drivers who may have seen the incident which was reported to have involved a silver/grey Audi A6 Quattro estate. They also ask that anyone with information or dashcam footage calls Detective Constable Amy Burrows on 01474 366541 quoting crime reference XY/012617/18.

Brendan Scott, 31, of St Patrick’s Gardens in Gravesend, has since been charged with assault, dangerous driving and using a motor vehicle without third party insurance.

He appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 7 March where he was remanded in custody and is due to appear before Woolwich Crown Court on 4 April.
