South Thanet MP, Craig Mackinlay, is delighted to learn that Thanet District Council’s application to the Coastal Revival Fund for Cliftonville Lido and the Clifton Baths has been successful.

Some £44,000 of funding has been secured to survey the Grade II listed site.

Craig Mackinlay MP commented:

“It’s exciting to see money from the Coastal Revival Fund help bring wonderful coastal historic assets, like the Cliftonville Lido, back into economic use. The Clifton Baths are part of the hidden history of Thanet and are truly unique.

“This money supports our efforts to bring sustainable economic regeneration to Cliftonville and also demonstrates the Government’s commitment to support the coastal communities in Thanet.

“I look forward to following the progress of this project and seeing the improvement it will make to the local area.”

Cliftonville Lido’s is one of 44 successful Coastal Revival Fund applications in England who will each receive a grant. Collectively, this brings government support in this round of the Fund to 92 projects worth almost £4 million.
