Children’s Mental Health Week 2019

In 2015, children’s mental health charity, Place2Be set up the first ever Children’s Mental Health Week.  The aim of the initiative is to raise awareness and help more people understand the importance of a child or young person’s mental health.

Now in its fifth year, the charity is hoping that more people than ever will be encouraged to get involved and help spread the word on this important issue.  This year’s theme is ‘Healthy: Inside and Out’.  It may appear obvious what this entails, however, the point is, many of us when considering what is meant by a ‘healthy lifestyle’ would conjure up thoughts of eating well, getting lots of exercise and plenty of sleep.  Of course, by putting these steps in to practice, this will help towards your well-being, but it’s vital that you’re mental health is taken into consideration as well.  This is why school-based support group, Place2Be is taking action to ensure children and young people are given the right help to improve their emotional well-being along with their families, teachers and school staff.

The mind and body are closely linked so if we take conscious efforts to be healthy inside and out, it can help us to be more focused, emotionally stable and deal with tough times in a more positive manner.

So, if you are someone who works with children, a parent or carer, passionate about spreading the word, or keen to raise vital funds, Place2Be wants to hear from you.  Click here to help the cause and support their fantastic work.
