Cashless parking is transferring from Parkmobile to RingGo

RingGo, the UK’s leading phone parking provider, will be taking over cashless parking across Ashford Borough Council from 8 June.

Like Parkmobile, RingGo lets users pay for parking using their credit or debit card and their mobile phone, rather than having to touch a shared machine whilst paying by cash or card.

RingGo has the added bonus that if motorists need to stay longer, they can extend their parking wherever they are, using their phone, without having to return to the vehicle. Optional text reminders are sent just before parking is due to run out.

RingGo offers motorists a choice of ways to pay: the most popular is via the RingGo app, but users can also call, send an SMS, or pay online. If a motorist pays for parking via RingGo there is no need to display a ticket in the vehicle.

Any existing Parkmobile user that has not previously used RingGo should download the RingGo app and complete their registration online at www.RingGo.co.uk, to ensure they can park quickly and easily whenever they need to. Anyone who would like try cashless parking for the first time can do the same.

Cllr Peter Feacey, portfolio holder for Community, Safety and Wellbeing at Ashford Borough Council, says “It is great to be moving towards RingGo as our new pay-by-phone supplier. They are the UK’s leading cashless parking provider in terms of geographic coverage and number of local authorities covered. Across Kent, RingGo is offered by 10 of the 13 local authorities already, with neighbouring Canterbury, Folkestone & Hythe, Maidstone, Swale, and Tunbridge Wells all offering the service.

“This means motorists are more likely to already use RingGo, which minimises the number of different apps our customers need to have on their phone.”
