Calling all artists for Create Festival 2019

Create Festival

Are you a band, singer-songwriter, DJ, community group or collective? Planning for Create Festival 2019 is now underway, and the organisers want to hear from you!

The hugely popular free festival, which takes place every year in Ashford’s Victoria Park, is once again on the hunt to find the right mix of new and established acts to take on the four live music stages.

Since its first festival in 1995, Create has become one of the largest free music events in the South East, growing in reputation through hosting national headline acts, nurturing the local music scene and growing the offer of arts entertainment on and off the park.

Last year, the double Grammy award winning DJ, actor and comedian DJ Jazzy Jeff headlined the Ashford College Main Stage in front of thousands, all supported by local acts who were selected through the online application process.

If you think you have what it takes to entertain the estimated 12,000 music lovers who attend across the course of the day, and would like to be in with a chance to play on Saturday 20 July 2019, then you’re invited to apply online NOW.

Festival Organiser, Chris Dixon, said: “Over the years, Create has been so proud to programme the very best of the local music scene, as well as give unexpected opportunities to young performers to play their very first live gig. We are always inundated with applications but we would especially like to hear from more music community groups, choirs and electronic/DJ artists.”

Cllr Mike Bennett, Portfolio Holder for Culture, said: “We are incredibly proud of how the festival has grown in stature and reputation over the years, and we recognise that it provides a well valued opportunity for local artists to showcase their talents.”

The closing date for entries is midnight on Sunday 10 March 2019.
