Action For Brain Injury Awareness Week 2017
Action for Brain Injury Week will take place on 8th – 14th May 2017, with the theme to be announced in due course.
Action for Brain Injury Week, also known as ABI Week, is Headway’s main high-profile campaign. It’s a chance for our groups and branches, members and supporters across the country to join together and campaign to improve life after brain injury.
Each year we focus our activities around a central theme. In 2016 we launched our Concussion Aware campaign, which aims to improve awareness of concussion in sport, and in previous years we have focused on issues such as cycle helmets, our new brain injury statistics, funding cuts and carers.
We’ll be announcing the theme of the 2017 campaign in due course, but in the meantime, put the date in your diary and keep checking our website and the #ABIWeek hashtag on Twitter for more details.
Creative works
We’re inviting our supporters to share your expressions of how brain injury has created ‘A New Me’, to help raise awareness of the condition.
Whether it’s a painting, photograph, poem, short film, podcast or even a letter to your brain injury as shown in the video below, we would love to showcase as many creations as possible during Action for Brain Injury Week in May. We know that it’s not just brain injury survivors who ‘A New Me’ may resonate with, so we’re inviting family members and carers to get involved too.
