Looping the Loop returns to Thanet for its 10th festival.

Looping the Loop

Looping-the-Loop is set, once more, to fill Thanet on May 3rd– 7th with exciting pop-up performances and opportunities to get involved.

Locally grown talent and internationally acclaimed visiting artists come together for the 10th Looping-the-Loop Festival to entertain, inspire and engage through physical theatre, live music, comedy, immersive theatre, magical outdoor events and free activities across Ramsgate, Margate and Broadstairs.

What is Looping-the-Loop?

A group of Thanet-based arts organisations are working in partnership with internationally acclaimed theatre producers Battersea Arts Centre and seven other towns around the UK. Looping the Loop, a festival of live performance, takes place across Thanet, looping together the three main towns (Margate, Broadstairs, Ramsgate) and the practitioners who live here. The main aim of the festival is to encourage new audiences for live performance.

The project has been extended until 2019, with a year-round programme of activities, as well as two Festivals a year in Thanet. In spaces new and old, familiar or hidden away, Looping The Loop will mesmerise and surprise. Alongside 3 or 4 productions brought to Thanet from Battersea Arts Centre, they produce new work here and support other East Kent theatre-makers to bring work to the festival – home-grown is a vital element and one we are developing with each festival season.

There are shows for all ages, workshops for all levels including professional practitioners, new work from Thanet being shown (developed with your help!) and they continue to support practitioners to get their work in front of an audience.
