Two’s Company – a Deal Duo

Rob and Natalie have been filling pub dance floors with their varied repertoire of well known upbeat covers for five years under the band’s name Two’s Company.

They confess “it’s crazy how time flies” which is undoubtedly true, it seems impossible that it’s been over a year since we’ve been allowed to listen to live music inside the delightful pubs of Deal, but we’re on board the roadmap and live music is within hearing distance. With that in mind and in ear CommunityAd had the pleasure of a chat with the Deal based duo – Natalie, who provides the dulcet tones and Rob, who provides the great guitar strumming – who speak of highly of Deal’s music minded community “the people and local community are wonderful and very supportive of live music also”.

There’s something joyous about live music that I think we’ve all missed over the last few months, it must be a satisfying feeling when you rock up on stage and you see the audience singing back at you?

Absolutely, there is nothing better than playing to an active audience however big or small, that are singing and dancing along. I think this particular summer is going to have a lot of those moments and we really cannot to start playing again.

You must be extremely eager to get back on stage? How has this latest lockdown been for you?

If I am honest, it’s been a toughie. The first lockdown was okay. We just thought, we will sit tight and eventually normality will return. But it didn’t, we had a window of performances throughout the summer, then everything closed down, yet again. So, it’s definitely been challenging financially and emotionally.

Kent has got a rich music scene, hasn’t it? Lots of variety and a host of great venues, which ones stand out for you?

Wow, well yes Kent really has an array of fantastic venues. To be completely honest I couldn’t really pick out venues, as they all have their charms.

If Two’s Company were to become Three’s Company who would be the dream third member of the band (dead or alive)?

Natalie Maines from the Dixie Chicks.

Any plans to perform for readers this summer?

We are playing all over Kent and have a busy schedule, the best place to see all our dates is on our Facebook page just search, Two’s Company Kent and go to our events section. I have been making sure it’s all up to date.

There are many local musicians and bands that we want to see back in pubs and venues around town, so if you get a chance show your support as it’s been a tough year for the performers and gig-goers so let’s celebrate them.

You can find out more about the band and stay up-to-date on their appearances by following Two’s Company on Facebook @twoscompanykent.
