The Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards

CommunityAd has teamed up with the Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards to help champion mental health in the county.

We will join the judging panel of these annual awards and help share the winners’ stories following a glittering awards night this autumn. Read on to find out how you can submit a nomination.

The Kent Mental Wellbeing Awards is an annual event to showcase the people, organisations and initiatives that help us cope with life. Whether it is in your school, business, community or family, so many of us have been lucky to have people and organisations with ideas, tips and tactics to help support our wellbeing – it is time to celebrate those mental health champions in our community and share this best practice.

The awards celebrate the people, initiatives and organisations making a positive contribution towards wellbeing in the workplace and community through the three themes of kindness and compassion, wellbeing and mental health.

Staged by the mental health charity East Kent Mind and supported by a range of organisations including Kent County Council and Medway Council, the event will highlight the good ideas used to assist with wellbeing in its broadest sense.

Nominations can be linked to a simple act of kindness that lifted the spirits, a business that has improved staff wellbeing, through to a targeted initiative delivered by a charity or statutory organisation to support a mental health issue.

Of particular interest to the judges this year are examples of organisations involved in:

  • Nature areas that allow individuals to relax, reflect and de-stress.
  • Outdoor gardens and allotments giving hands-on experience of growing plants.
  • Wellbeing support in the workplace or school.
  • Volunteers or volunteering initiatives.
  • Charity fundraisers.
  • Leaders in the wellbeing sector.
  • Community or school buddying / mentoring initiatives.
  • Kindness campaigns.

Organisations may nominate themselves or encourage clients to nominate them. Submitting a nomination is easy, simply visit kentmentalwellbeingawards.org.uk. Follow news about the awards @KentMWAwards on Facebook or Twitter.

The event is supported by Kent County Council, Kent Community Foundation, ADM Computing, National Grid GrainLNG, Medway Council, Cactus Graphics, Hempstead House country hotel Sittingbourne and the CommunityAd Magazine.
