Kings Hill FC Update – Andrew Boxer’s new role

CommunityAd Exclusive - Kings Hill FC Update - Andrew Boxer's new roleAndrew Boxer will move from his current role of Vice Chair – Competitive Girls’ and Women’s to Club Chairman bringing his strong strategic thinking and vision to the wider club.

Andrew has been coaching at Kings Hill FC for over 9 years, initially with one of our very first girls teams. Andrew very quickly joined the committee as Vice Chair of Girls Football and has created a thriving and continually growing Girls Section at KHFC, first with the Wildcats in 2016 and more recently introducing the successful Women’s 1st team and starting a Women’s Reserves team this season.

Andrew is proud to have had the opportunity to coach a variety of teams across the club from U7 all the way up to the Women’s team. In July 2020, as part of a committee restructure Andy became Head of Strategy to focus on the longer-term club vision, to grow the clubs offering and to create new opportunities for players. Part of that strategy was to put plans in place for a KHFC women’s team which was successfully launched in August 2021. As well as managing the 1st team Andy then moved into the role of Vice Chair Senior Girls and Women’s football where he worked to establish the first KHFC teams entering the JPL (Junior Premier league) in Sept 2022 and set up the Kings Hill Performance Centre to provide additional high-level training on a Monday with 2 UEFA A Coaches. In June 2022 he handed over the 1st team reigns to Chabs and was delighted to see their efforts rewarded with a double winning season.

Andy is looking forward to the challenge of being Club Chairman and working with a very strong committee team. His initial priorities will be to work closely with Barry to progress the adult teams up the football pyramid, take the learnings from the Girls Section, particularly the performance centre and implement them across all sections.

He said: “I am excited to take on the role of club chairman, having worked closely with Barry for many years, I know he will be a very tough act to follow, and I must thank him for all the fantastic work he has done over the last 4 years and the amazing club he has helped build. As we start our 21st year it is testament to the hard work of so many volunteers like Barry that we now have 63 teams and over 900 players at the club. I am delighted that Barry has agreed to remain a part of the committee and I know the Men’s adult section will thrive under his guidance. I must also thank the whole committee for their ongoing hard work and dedication to ensuring our club is the best in the county.

“I am looking forward to working across the whole club to establish new playing and development opportunities for our players. We are incredibly lucky to call the sports park our home and I hope that we can continue to grow and develop over the coming years.”
