Canterbury’s Ralph Lombart supporting Catching Lives

Amateur photographer and champion fundraiser Ralph Lombart is at it again on behalf of the homeless charity Catching Lives. Ralph uses his gifted eye for a photo to help change the lives of those living on the streets.

CommunityAd have been aware of Ralph Lombart’s charitable snapping for many years, and we were as keen as ever to help spread the word of his do-gooding mission and had the pleasure of speaking to the man behind the pictures.

So firstly, Ralph, why is Catching Lives such a worthy cause and one you are fully supportive of?

I have two reasons why. One, I think it’s important to help local charities. Two, I am very touched by the plight of the homeless. These are the reasons why I support Catching Lives. If I were to add an equally important reason to the other two, I’m genuinely pleased by the great work done by Catching Lives. The staff at their Canterbury shelter always do a tremendous job helping the homeless and vulnerable people they meet each day.

How will you be raising the funds this time around?

I do love photography and will continue to donate my framed images to raffle and raise additional funds for Catching Lives. People can visit two coffee shops in Canterbury to see the framed images and buy raffle tickets at £1:00 each for a chance to win. The draw will take place at the end of December by the fundraising manager of Catching Lives. Catching Lives have set up a JustGiving page for me where people can donate.

You’ve already received donations and plenty of flattering comments, ‘local legend’ being one of them, what would you like to say to those who’ve donated?

I’m very grateful to everyone for helping those in need. It is such an important thing to do. I’m genuinely overwhelmed to see such kindness and generosity.

Why should readers consider donating?

Donating to this worthy cause will help make a big difference in the lives of the homeless and vulnerable people in our community.

Ralph leaves with this poignant festive message which rings true “We cannot alter the horrendous state of the world due to the pandemic. We can, however, shine a light of love, hope, and kindness in our little part of this world. Christmas is about giving and celebrating that we are part of one human family”.

For your chance to be in the raffle pop into Phoebe’s Coffee House, Cafe Chambers or get your raffle tickets online via the JustGiving page. CommunityAd commends Ralph for his continued charitable efforts; find out more about his chosen charity Catching Lives by visiting their website.
