A bit about Canterbury

The City of Canterbury has a rich history and heritage and has been inhabited since pre-historic times with remains of axes and Neolithic /bronze age pots being discovered in the area. The city has been home to many famous people from Thomas Becket to Orlando Bloom. The City is also currently home to the Arch bishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby

The City of Canterbury is now one of the biggest tourist destinations in the U.K, with attractions such as Canterbury Cathedral, Greyfriars chapel and Eastbridge Hospital.The City also has a big student community which attend the Canterbury Christ Church University, the University was founded in 1962. As well as these historic places to visit the city offers river tours, great shopping facilities a vibrant night life and a whole host of restaurants.
