White Cliffs Countryside Partnership Celebrates 30 years

2019 sees the White Cliffs Countryside Partnership (WCCP) celebrate thirty years of organising events to help local people enjoy, learn about and care for the wonderful countryside and wildlife of the Dover, Folkestone and Hythe areas.

Sue Bradford of White Cliffs Countryside Partnership, commented “We are privileged to live in such a beautiful area of outstanding natural beauty with such world class wildlife and history, and our latest Discover brochure should have something to interest almost everyone, including our Green Gang activities for children.”

New for this Spring and Summer programme is a Canoeing Water Wildlife Safari on 13th April in Seabrook, a wine tasting event in Hawkinge on 18th May, plus two guided bat walks and a nest box making session at Fort Burgoyne later in the summer. There are lots of Easter events for all the family too. Full details are available in the 2019 Discover brochure which is available free of charge from libraries, local Tourist Information centres and Dover District council offices. The WCCP website and Facebook pages also have further details of events and conservation tasks.

The Year of Green Action is part of the Government’s 25-year environment plan and is attempting to connect people with nature, so come along and join in the WCCP events to learn about and love nature. There are plenty of opportunities to help clear pathways, repair steps, cut back overgrown vegetation to name just a few.
