Glow Wild 2021

Glow Wild 2021

Let the magic begin…

Our enchanting winter lantern trail is back for its eighth year with Glow Wild 2021, and it’s packed full of surprises.

As darkness falls, the gardens are brought to life with glowing lanterns, mesmerising projections, immersive soundscapes, and glistening torches of fire.

Join us for an unmissable evening of winter wonder and marvel at our record-breaking installations, from the UK’s largest natural screen, to the tallest living Christmas tree adorned with 1,800 lights.

This year’s Glow Wild trail reflects on the beauty of nature that has blossomed during the pause of the past year. It reminds us to continue to tread lightly on the Earth, allowing nature to unfurl around us.

Don’t miss our brand-new installations:

  • Brighton-based light artists, Ithaca, will transform Wakehurst’s Walled Garden into a tranquil Twilight Garden, illuminated by dazzling glowworms.
  • Award-winning light designers OGE Group return with more spectacular seedheads, casting an ethereal light over the Black Pond.
  • Digital display artists, The Colour Project, explore the journey of seeds in an animated projection onto natural screens among the trees.
  • There’s so much more, including hand-made lanterns of nocturnal wonders, tropical flowers and wildlife; a magnificent sculpture of a willow tree throughout the seasons; and spiralling tendrils of fire on the Mansion Lawn.

Festive food and winter warmers

Let the festive fun continue with our two new dining experiences:

  • Enjoy family-friendly dishes at our Seeds Café before or after your visit to the trail.
  • Treat yourself to an evening of luxury and escape to our Winter Lodge in the Elizabethan Mansion where you can enjoy festive fizz on arrival and an unlimited selection of winter warmers, petit fours, and light bites.

Back by popular demand, the Carriage Ring food and drink stalls will be serving hot chocolate, sweet treats, and roasted chestnuts, and a range of hot dishes will be available at our Stables Kitchen.

Quiet sessions

We are offering a limited number of ‘quiet session’ tickets. These are suitable for visitors with hidden disabilities, such as autism, to make for a more comfortable visit whilst still experiencing the sensory benefits of Glow Wild.
