Boogie For Good 18

What a crazy, tough 18 months it has been and I don’t think anyone could ever have imagined it. We hope you are all ok and we are delighted to be back for the first time in over 2 years and boy, we cannot wait to hear live music again and raise money for some fantastic charities. We are returning back to our home in Brighton, for our 18th Boogie For Good charity night. There will be the usual selection of fantastic live music including Rosie Louise, Thomas J Wilman and a great covers band, Waiting for Derek. Of course, there will be some excellent raffle prizes to win as well.
For the second time, we are combining our night with the annual (newly named) Hamilton Lodge memorial 5 aside football tournament during the day. This is in memory of 3 friends; Declan, Sam and Loz, from a small Thursday night 5 aside league, who have all tragically taken their own lives way too early and we sorely miss them. We want to help raise awareness about mental health and there are amazing charities and people out there who can help. I think everyone appreciates the struggles we have all had over the last 18 months especially and to be able to chat to friends, family or a charity like Grassroots (we have also raised money for Mind and Pavilions in previous years.
It will be a 1230 meet at Hamilton Lodge School (BN2 0LS) and the pitches are tucked away down an alley at the back. All players and friends are welcome back to the pub after for the entertainment and excellent locally sourced pub food will be available to buy. Having missed last year due to Covid, we are raising money for three charities this time; Grassroots, Rockinghorse and Family Care Cambodia and all proceeds across the whole day will be split between them.

Rockinghorse

In the new world we live in, we do request that people do take Covid precautions and do not attend if they have the following symptoms:
  • High temperature
  • New and continuous cough
  • Loss or change to your sense of smell or taste
  • We would request that you have been double jabbed and use the NHS app or take a recent Lateral Flow test.

So spread the word and we hope to see loads of people there to support these fantastic charities. Entry is an optional £5 on the night so an absolute bargain. Lets get back to having fun, dancing, listening to live music and supporting these amazing charities that need all the help they can get.
