While much of the world’s population live under lockdown measures, leisure time for all of us is looking very different to the norm as we look for ways to stay occupied and keep our spirits up.

That’s why each Saturday night at 8pm Blesma will be hosting a virtual quiz. You can join them for some fun entertainment whilst helping to raise vital funds for their limbless and injured veterans all from your own home.

Since 1932, Blesma, The Limbless Veterans has been the only national Armed Forces Charity that supports limbless and injured veterans for the duration of their lives and during these challenging times Blesma is working around the clock to ensure that its often already isolated Members, especially those most vulnerable, continue to receive vital human contact and practical, emotional and financial support. Blesma have made almost 2,500 non-physical contacts since social distancing measures began – as quickly as their Members needs are shifting, they are adapting.

Your £3.00 entry fee to play the virtual quiz may not sound like much but £3.00 is all it takes for one of Blema’s welfare team to call a veteran in need of advice or a listening ear. Blesma asks you to share the event and play along with your family, friends and colleagues. The more people they have playing along, the higher the jackpot and the more funds they will raise.

Just £27 raised by 9 people playing will pay for a month-long course of adaptive weekly home workout classes for injured veterans, to help ensure they can keep mentally and physically well throughout the lockdown period.

If Blesma can achieve 65 people playing that will afford them the £200 cost of a high quality, lightweight wheelchair for a limb injured veteran – a wheelchair for many is key to retaining their independence and being able to continue living in their own home.

There are cash prizes to be won for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. To take part you need to register to play. This will only take a minute or so.
