Angels Walk 8 (The 2020 edit) at Peacehaven Big Park

peacehaven
Back for it’s 8th year, Angels Walk returns to Peacehaven Big Park.
With a choice of walking, running, skipping, jogging or even dancing around the 5k or 10k circular routes around Peacehaven (following government guidelines of course) this year I am also encouraging participants can take part virtually from anywhere in the world that they are, whilst raising vital funds for the NSPCC’s Childline.

Entry Fee

Full details and sign up available at www.runpals.club/angels-walk

This year, entry costs £10 per participant over the age of 16 for either the physical or virtual event (plus 90p for the virtual event to cover shipping). Children up to the age of 16 can register for £5. Children under 5 and under can take part with parent / guardian FOC, but you must make note of numbers in the entry form.Registration fee covers all admin costs and includes a £5 donation for NSPCC Childline.

Any additional donations are gratefully accepted.

Please complete eventbrite registration then officially sign up using the above link. (many thanks to PapaPal Matt Coyne for the free use of your RunPals website)

Physical Event at Peacehaven Big Park

If taking part in the physical event, you will have to follow strict guidelines (more details below) and select whether you are walking or running, whether you are taking part solo or with a group what distance you are entering and a predicted finish time This is so that we can stagger arrivals and the starts of the event.

This is a family friendly event so children and well behaved dogs welcome as are off road buggy runners (apologies but not suitable for most wheelchair users), however you will have to follow strict new guidelines for 2020 including the groups of 6.

Virtual Event

For this year we are hosting a virtual event for those not wanting or not able to participate in the physical event. You can walk, jog or run 5 or 10k in your own time between Saturday 24th October and 4pm on Sunday 1st November.

No evidence is needed to prove you completed your walk/jog/run, but please share your photos on the events facebook page .After 1st November, medals will be posted to you direct from the supplier

Covid-19 Guidelines at Peacehaven Big Park

  • No race numbers will be allocated this year.
  • NSPCC t shirts and bobble hats will need to be pre-ordered before the event, and will be available for collection at the start of the event in pre-named carrier bags
  • Arrival times will be allocated on predicted finish times and which event entered (predicted time for 5k and 10k)
  • Event will have staggered starts depending on which event entered, and whether runner, walker or group.
  • Participants are encouraged to bring their own hydration/gels in the form of a hydration belt/similar. To comply with guidance we are unable to offer water in paper cups. Sealed plastic water bottles will be provided at various points around the course and plastic recycling will be in operation.
  • Overtaking is dissuaded but allowed if you maintain social distancing/take a wide berth. There will be some sections where overtaking is prohibited which will be covered in the event briefing.
  • Hand sanitising encouraged before, during and after the event.
  • Face coverings are recommended at the start line and you’re reminded to keep to social distancing guidelines of 2 metres.
  • Course detours/changes may apply – all participants will be kept informed.

  • All physical event finishers will collect their own bespoke sustainable medal at the finishing line.

In the event of further government restrictions and not being able to host a physical event despite the above COVID restrictions the event will become a fully virtual event with medals being available for collection from the Sunday or posted out as needed.

No refunds will be given due to costs of setting up the event, ordering medals etc. ALL proceeds will still go to NSPCC.
