Vacation or Staycation – where are you heading this summer?

West Sussex has a fantastic range of tourist attractions and leisure activities to keep all our residents entertained during the summer months. Do you agree?

With the summer holidays just around the corner we’re seeking views from local residents about their plans for holidays, short breaks and days out. We’re keen to get your thoughts on things to do locally and if there’s enough on offer to meet your needs.

Please take five minutes to complete our survey.

We’ll share the results of this survey with our partners in the local tourism sector to make them aware of your thoughts.

New videos explain how to apply for funding

People with physical and learning disabilities are being encouraged to apply for funding to help support them at work.

The Government’s ‘Access to Work’ grant can be used to pay for practical assistance at work including special equipment and adaptations, a job coach, interpreters, counselling, taxi fares and specific software.

West Sussex County Council has produced a series of videos that explain how to apply for the funding. The videos are a step by step guide to completing the ‘Access to Work’ application process as well as tips about working when you have a disability.

Watch the videos here.

Support for Carers in West Sussex

Carers Support West Sussex (CSWS) is an independent charity, working in close partnership with West Sussex County Council and the NHS, to identify and offer support to unpaid family and friend carers across the county.

CSWS are planning to launch a campaign to residents in West Sussex, including a quick survey.

Please help us by completing the survey – it should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete and closes on 30 August. Thank you in advance for your time.

Consider a job in care!

We’ve just launched our new care campaign in the Bognor Regis area, which promotes the range of jobs in care available locally.

If you (or anyone you know) are looking for a job where there’s flexibility, opportunities to progress and you have the skills to help people get the best out of everyday we’d love to hear from you.

As part of the campaign we’re hosting the following drop in care recruitment event, which is open to anyone interested to come along and find out more.

  • Wednesday 17 July, 10.00am – 2.00pm                                                      The Regis Centre, Belmont Street, Bognor Regis, PO21 1BL
