Stache Grooming Tips for Movember

stache grooming tips - moustache and bow on wooden surface for Movember

Not only does November mark the beginning of belting out Christmas songs, it’s also the month to take part in Movember. If you don’t already know what Movember is, it’s an annual event that aims to raise awareness about men’s health issues. These are issues such as prostate cancer, testicular cancer and suicide. This event usually has men growing out their lush moustaches until November is over, and some results are quite astonishing. If you’re already taking part in this event, make sure you take care of that stache by reading through these grooming tips!

Make sure you cleanse

Cleansing is a great way to keep your stache fresh and, of course, clean. Not only does it wash away the bacteria on the hair and skin, cleansing also helps to reduce impurities that have gathered throughout the day. You can simply use the facial cleanser you’re using now, shampoo or washes specifically for moustaches and beards. If you want to nourish your skin, invest in some shaving oil and foam. However, make sure you cleanse it with warm water if you want a soft stache.

Invest in a grooming kit

If you want your stache to look neat, investing in a grooming kit will save you from any stache emergencies. Whether you plan to grow your moustache really long, a grooming kit will tame any wild hairs. It will even help you trim and shape your stache into the style you want.

Make you maintain your tools

Since you’ll be regularly using your tools, it’s important that you give them the care they need. After using a razor, they should be cleaned and the blades should be changed every month. You also need to look out for a build-up of hair and dull blades. A build-up and dullness means your razor won’t have a good cutting effect.

Make sure you’re using the right products

If you want to take styling seriously, you need the right products to be able to achieve the look you want. You can get beard or stache washes, as well as oils and creams. According to experts, people with finer hair can use a styling pomade, but people with coarse locks should try to get a product with a strong hold for any stubborn facial hairs.

Don’t trim when your stache is wet

Trimming with a wet stache can result in you chopping too much hair off. When your stache eventually dries, the hair will shrink. So, never trim when wet boys!
