Sausage & Cider Festival set for Ashford’s Victoria Park

The inaugural Ashford Sausage & Cider Festival will be coming to the town’s Victoria Park on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June 2019, hosted by Zoom Events. Visitors can look forward to an array of street foods with a big focus on sausages from local, national and international producers as well as cider from Kent brewers Turners, Wise Owl and Luke’s Cider. A packed programme of live music will hit the stage throughout the weekend, including established tribute acts Wrong Jovi on the Saturday and Abba Stars UK on Sunday.

Situated in Victoria Park within easy walking distance of the Town Centre, the festival is readily accessible and getting to the event is straight forward. Free parking will be available for designated drivers in the adjacent Watercress Fields. A parent/carer and child area with entertainment including fairground rides, face painting and other activities will add to the family friendly feel making it a fun, safe event for young, old and all those in the middle.

‘We are delighted to be hosting the Ashford Sausage & Cider Festival, bringing our brand of family friendly entertainment to Ashford for the first time,’ said Paul Kennedy, Director of Zoom Events. ‘A great line up of music has been confirmed including two great tribute acts and a host of other talented musicians across a range of genre,’ he continued.

A diverse variety of freshly cooked sausages ranging from free range Kent farmhouse, Cumberland, pork and leek, pork, red wine and Italian herbs, foot long sausages, chilli hot dogs, Polish sausages and vegetarian hot dogs will be available for guests to enjoy. For those who prefer an alternative to sausages, other street foods will include nachos, burgers with homemade toppings made from locally sourced ingredients and pork or chicken souvlaki.

Alongside the main festival, homemade groceries will be available for tasting so that guests can choose their favourites to purchase and savour at home, in addition to an arts and crafts section. Award winning flavoured waxed cheese truckles, gourmet British game and handcrafted wooden garden furniture are just some of the artisan products to browse on the day. Meanwhile, Hot Faces Sauces will be returning home to Ashford showing videos of their extreme chilli products and running a live reaction cam. Plus, in homage to the festival, they will be providing a range of chilli flavoured ciders and beers in partnership with Fallen Angel Brewery.

Ashford Sausage & Cider Festival will be open on Saturday 15th June 2019 from 10am – 9pm and Sunday 16th June 2019 from 11am – 7pm.
