Older People’s Information Day 2020

Chelmsford City Council is inviting the city’s residents, aged 65 and over, to attend its free Older People’s Information Day to be held at Chelmsford Cathedral on Tuesday 21 April from 10am – 2pm.

Sponsored by Birkett Long Solicitors, this popular event will feature a number of short presentations delivered by local organisations, covering a range of topics which provide advice and useful information to attendees. Birkett Long’s specialist lawyers will be offering a practical guide to lasting powers of attorney.

This year’s supporting exhibition will showcase a variety of information from organisations and groups offering services, support and activities. There will be plenty of information stands to browse throughout the day, providing the opportunity to speak with representatives who will be on hand to answer any questions.

Chelmsford City Council’s Events & Engagement Officer, Ryan Mitchell, said, “The City Council has been running this event for over fifteen years and we are committed to working with our local community organisations to meet the needs and aspirations of our older residents.”

He added, “The information day is an opportunity for our older residents to make their voices heard and to ask any questions they may have about the services available to them, which they may not have known about prior to the event.”

This year’s event is supported by partners Other Halves and the John Ford Group. Admittance is free, but by ticket only, available on a first come, first served basis. Mid-morning refreshments and a small packed lunch will be provided.

Tickets will be available from 10am on Tuesday 3 March and can be booked online at www.chelmsford.gov.uk/informationday or by calling 01245 606606 and stating ‘Older People’s Day’ when prompted by the automated phone system. Tickets for this event are very popular, so please book early to avoid disappointment.
