Man charged with violent disorder in Dover

A 48-year-old man from Staffordshire has been charged with violent disorder. Officers are continuing to investigate trouble at a demonstration in Dover on 30 January 2016.

Shaun Grimsley, of Foxglove Walk in Hednesford, was arrested on Thursday 5 January 2017. A warrant was executed at his home address.

Consequently, he has been charged with violent disorder and has been bailed to attend Folkestone Magistrates Court on Wednesday 8 February 2017.

Detective Inspector Bill Thornton, from Kent Police, said: ‘We are continuing to work tirelessly to identify suspects for offences committed before and during the demonstrations in Dover.

`This latest charge shows that we work closely with police forces across the UK to make sure these arrests are made.

‘It also shows that it does not matter where you live, if you are suspected of committing a crime you will be tracked down, arrested and put before the courts.’
