Life at CommunityAd – New Year New Goals

LifeAtCommadW25

Here’s a big hello and welcome to 2022 – hoping everyone had a fantastic Christmas break and more importantly I’d like to wish you all a very happy new year!!

Thank you to each and everyone of you for a brilliant 2021, for all your support and for all your wonderful feedback! The team at CommunityAd all had a fantastic well-earned break over the festive period and now we are back to work and off to a flying start. Right now in the CommunityAd office it’s all about New Year New Goals right now, what I mean by that is what better way to make an amazing start to the year than by setting ambitious goals for the company to progress…because “without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning” –Benjamin Franklin.

There is plenty of change for everyone to look forward to this year which will further help develop the advertising opportunities we offer to our customers as well as the stories written for all of our magazines for the enjoyment of our lovely readers. Watch this space and do follow us on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram to keep up to date with the latest developments!

Our amazing sales department are fully recharged after the Christmas break and fully embracing New Year New Goals! Despite a few absences due to Covid which we suppose is inevitable in today’s climate, sales have all hit individual and team targets two weeks in a row! Well-done to you all, starting the year as you mean to go on!

New Year New Goals for our digital and online team who have all been set their targets for the year which means we will continue the accelerated growth of our social media channels and website. We will continue sharing the latest and most relevant stories with you all to ensure we are constantly getting our customers in front of their target audience. The next few months will be full of meetings to implement changes and trial new strategies to help with our growth.

New Year New Goals for our editorial team…Whilst Matt felt rejoiced he was able to (just about) squeeze back into his work trousers after 2 weeks of festive feasting, he was also inspired to kick start his 2022 in the right way after speaking to Sittingbourne’s race walker Cameron Corbishley. The 24-year old specialises in the 20km and 50km walks and has goals of competing at this years’ Commonwealth Games. If you’ve set a goal in the form of a New Years Resolution do take a read of Keeping Your New Year’s Resolution for hints on tips on how to stay on track and move towards your goal.

Dave enjoyed many things about this week, from the biscuit-laden editorial meeting (to discuss ideas to progress with our magazine content this year) to talking with the parents of Brooke Cressey, an eight-year old Mathematic genius and learning of Sittingbourne’s FC Danish link via a chat with Mark Chapman, not the BBC presenter but the founder of the Sittingbourne FC Supporters Club on Facebook.

Callum has taken his first steps into the gym with our upcoming Braintree magazine, as he spoke to Gavin from CrossFit Braintree about their challenging fundraiser for a special local girl called Florentina. CrossFit Braintree raised over £3,000 towards Florentina £250,000 target by bringing together almost 100 members and completing 100 continuous ‘FRANs’ lasting from 8am-7pm. A big shout out to everyone who took part and raised some vital funds in the process!

And finally, Alice spoke to Mel Stones from Camberley, who has devoted over a decade of her life to rescuing stray animals in the United Arab Emirates. There are no official government programmes in the UAE making provision for strays, so the welfare of these animals lies entirely in the hands of volunteers like Mel. The conditions these rescues are found in are often too heartbreaking to imagine, but the success stories make it all worth it – like Zed and Lucy (first picture) who were adopted by their foster dad and moved home with him to South Africa, and Alex, a rescue who now lives in Scotland and is clearly having a great time! Read all about this in the next issue of our Frimley & Villages CommunityAd Magazine.

We have plenty of going-ons coming up which we will be keeping you informed of in due-course. We are also currently in the process of putting together our first newsletter of the year! Exciting times ahead, onwards and upwards! Until next time guys!
