Life at CommunityAd – An absolute blast!

An absolute blast

Wow, let me just start by saying, our summer cocktail event last Friday was an absolute blast. Drinks were flowing, non-stop, for many hours; cheers to Kelly for the Jagerbomb which tipped me over the edge, and thanks again for the subsequent pint of water I had to down to keep myself alive! We had a finger buffet on display for everyone which was thoroughly enjoyed, I was told multiple times about the delightful quiche, especially by James from accounts…boy did he love that quiche (I know what I’m getting him for secret santa)! The booked entertainment went down a treat – Tasty Sax (aka Hamish) rocked some tunes on his set whilst he played his amazing saxophone!! Hamish definitely got us on the dance floor and feeling the Friday vibes! Lindsey even lived up to her name and despite her usual quiet demeanour she was definitely different after a drink or two! Safe to say the feel-good vibes have continued into this week and provided us with the happy atmosphere we’ve all enjoyed working in.

This week we have focused our efforts on getting our new and improved Rochester, Frindsbury and Strood CommunityAd Magazine underway which has also been an absolute blast. Our in-house editorial team have been busy sourcing stories in the community and I take pleasure in finding out that I can look forward to Matt’s exclusive with TikTok star Ronnie Warwick, a story about local Storm Trooper Steve’s fundraising efforts and local discus thrower Zara Obamakinwa representing England under 18 in the European Athletics! All in the first issue of the magazine due out for September! On top of the busy efforts poured into the new publication, top articles this week includes Matt who caught up with Woodnesborough FC for the upcoming Sandwich magazine as their U-16s team are looking to kick-start the new season in division 1, after gaining promotion last season, and they are on the hunt for new players. Alice spoke to Ros from the Positive Birth Movement for our upcoming Whitstable magazine where they discussed how the support group help support and inform women and families on better births. Callum spoke to John from the Hook Eagle Morris Men who provided information on the wonderful history of their group who celebrate their 30th birthday this year!

In other news, we have been missing Maria and Chloe who are on holiday this week, however we have a newcomer, Bryn who we have welcomed to our sales team! It’s great to see more and more lovely people joining our work family, we always have room for more lovely people. Talking of lovely people, Emma deserves a hero mention this week who has kindly been picking Sarah up for work because she sadly broke her toe after having an absolute blast at Chickenstock Music Festival. Speedy recovery and let’s hope the coffee table stops attacking you!

A week isn’t complete without hearing from our lovely readers, contributors and advertisers alike. We had a lovely phone call from Thanet Rotary Club’s Mike Dallen in the week to tell us how much great response he had from his article in our recent Thanet magazine. We always pride ourselves on the close-knit relationships we have with many fantastic rotary clubs so it was an absolute blast to hear how happy Mike was and we look forward to working with him again in the near future.

Busy as always, publishing and graphic design have been great at getting Ditchling, Bridge, and Birchington to print, these will come through your doors shortly.

absolute blast - brownies

Now it’s Friday, wages day, everyone’s buzzing for payday treats and in high spirits. We’ve been eating homemade brownies all morning and bouncing off the walls on sugar and now, it’s lunch and we’ve ordered pizza. Chow time so bye for now.

If you’ve got something to share with us, or if we can help you in anyway, get in touch, we love hearing from you!
