Sir Michael Caine, Joanna Lumley and Sir Chris Hoy are just some of high-profile stars who will read out a piece of poetry written by Patricia Debney from the School of English for the annual awards event.

Patricia was commissioned to write the introductory poem for the show for the third year in a row. The piece, inspired by Kipling’s famous work If,will also be read by other prominent stars including Tom Daley and Suranne Jones.

Patricia said it was fantastic to be asked to take part in the awards again and showcase the power poetry can have to help celebrate the achievements of unsung heroes from across the UK.
