Herne Bay Christmas lights funded for go ahead!

Earlier this week, local Herne Bay project Herne Bay Christmas Lights were delighted to announce on their Facebook page that the towns Christmas lights switch on will take place on Friday December 1st along Mortimer Street from 4pm-6pm with the switch on at 5:30pm.

This comes after much doubt that the festive switch on would even take place after funding for this year had been completely pulled. The local project organised by Nikki Casey had to start from scratch and with enough support from the community, there is now a guarantee that they will commence with a lot of donated funds and sponsors helping out.

Herne Bay Christmas Lights posted this status on their Facebook page on Monday

Hi everyone the fundraising for our town’s Christmas lights is going really well and we are now at the stage where we are looking to let everyone know about the Herne Bay Christmas Lights Switch On which is on Friday December 1st.

Your Move Estate Agents have very kindly offered to sponsor us for each board they put up advertising the details of the lights switch on. Obviously this board has their logo on it as well, but it would give us desperately needed funds and also help let those people not on social media know about the switch on too. We are hoping the local newspapers will also give details of the switch on, but we can’t guarantee this.

If you would be happy to help our fundraising by advertising the switch on, then please inbox the Herne Bay Christmas Lights page with your address, which we will forward on to Your Move. The boards will be up for approximately one month

Many thanks

After featuring this information as a campaign in our most recent Herne Bay magazine, we are absolutely thrilled that the funds have been secured for the Christmas light switch to take place.

Congratulations to all those involved who helped and most of all to Nikki Casey for her incredible effort of bringing Christmas to Herne Bay this Winter. There will be many families now who will be able to enjoy the festive atmosphere and get into the jolly spirit on December 1st.
