Get into the swing of things

Havant Borough Council’s Get up and Go is hosting a month of glorious golf to help residents get back into the swing of things.

Weekly hour-long golf sessions are being held at the Par 3 golf course, Hayling Island, from 10am starting Thursday 10 October.

These are an opportunity to learn the basics of golf, check out the course and meet like-minded people.  With no previous golfing experience needed, residents can simply come along and have a swing.

The sessions are led by Ray Gadd, a fully qualified golf coach and former professional golfer who took part in the PGA European Tour. Ray will teach posture, grip and other fundamentals of golf – perfect for those learning how to play or brushing up their game.

Councillor Tim Pike, Cabinet Lead for Planning, Regeneration and Communities, said: “Get up and Go continues to offer new ways for residents to get active and socialise. These golf sessions are another great opportunity to do this while also enjoying the stunning scenery of Hayling Island.”

For more information and booking, please visit www.getupandgohavant.com/events/golf. The first session is completely free with each thereafter just £4. All equipment is provided.

If you have any questions about the golf or any other Get up and Go activity, please email [email protected].
