Choosing something that is easy to fit into your lifestyle and that you enjoy will make it easier to get active. Why not walk during a break, play with your children or join a community class. It’s easier than you think to boost your physical activity levels and it all adds up.

Adults should really be aiming to do up to 150 minutes of moderate intensity exercise every week. But, don’t be put off as you don’t have to do it all at once. Small chunks works just as well and makes it easier to fit into everyday life. If you start with 10 minute slots a couple of days a week, before you know it you will be doing more each day.

This way, you can do a variety of activities so you don’t get bored or overdo it. Moderate intensity exercise means that you should feel a bit out of breath and a little warmer.

Activity that gets our hearts beating faster than usual helps to burn off calories and prevents the storing up of excess calories as fat in the body. It also keeps bones healthy and encourages muscle strength and flexibility. A good dose of fresh air and exercise also helps us all sleep better. Being overweight or obese can increase your risk of developing one of the major diseases like heart  disease or diabetes type II.
