“The Story of Rye” at Rye Heritage Centre

CommunityAd share the good news from Rye Heritage Centre as “The Story of Rye” returns.

And we’re back!

Following last month’s article, we are very pleased to say “the Story of Rye” sound and light show is once again fully functional and in fact – better than ever! The all new LED energy efficient lighting really brings the model town to life and visitor feedback has been very positive. The centre is now open Monday to Saturday from 10:30am to 4pm and on Sundays from 1pm to 4:30pm and we look forward to welcoming lots of visitors from all over the world and, of course, local residents too (don’t forget to ask for local resident’s discount when buying a ticket to the show)

We are now looking forward to getting back to working on new displays and features for the Heritage Centre including the new Smuggler’s story which will be open later this season. The Her Story project display will open in early July which will be of great interest to residents and visitors alike.

Plans are also coming along for a town wide event on 12th August to commemorate the 450th Anniversary of Queen Elizabeth I’s visit to Rye when she named it “Rye Royal” – more details to follow but make sure to pop the date in your diary – it should be a great day for all.

It looks to be an exciting year for the Rye Heritage Centre so if you think you would like to get involved as a volunteer or supporter or would just like to keep up to date with what’s going on please do get in touch: email us at [email protected] or drop in and see us when we are open. The website can be found at www.ryeheritage.co.uk and you’ll find us on Facebook and Instagram as @ryeheritage.
