Medway’s Jordan Ravenhill – Sing That Sweet Song

Medway isn’t short of talented musicians, as in our last issue we spoke to Nick Foreman, a man with over a decade of experience entertaining audiences in packed pubs and busy beer gardens. A more youthful example of instrumental and vocal talents that are thriving in 2020 is Medway’s Jordan Ravenhill.

The streets of Medway of are where 23-year-old singer-songwriter Jordan Ravenhill performs and receives various compliments about his talents. Shouts of ‘you’re going to be a big star mate’ are not uncommon when Jordan makes camp with his guitar and starts strumming, Jordan has a passion for music but also for busking, “I enjoy meeting new people and performing for them”

CommunityAd had the pleasure of a chinwag with the future star, and we can confirm he is as charming as his voice.

What’s it been like growing up in Medway?

From a business point of view growing up in Medway has been a challenge as there are not as many opportunities as somewhere like London.

When and why did you develop a love for music?

I have always been a performer from a young age, my mum recalls a time when I got on stage at Centre Parcs no older than five years old, but as I got older singing became second nature and it’s my one true passion, the first song I learnt on the guitar was Kiss Me by Ed Sheeran for a college acoustic performance. I then wrote my debut single “Start Again” aged 15 although I didn’t release it till I turned 21, it is on all major platforms.

Dream duet while busking. Who would you love to the hit the road of Rainham with?

Foy Vance, check him out, he is incredible.”

What’s in the pipeline for the coming few months?

“Making my next single which hopefully I’ll release in November, also do bigger gigs. I would just like to say thank you for reading this and thank you for the support.”

To hear Jordan for yourself head to his Facebook page where you can listen to his latest ‘Sing That Sweet Song’ which has been streamed over 8,000 times and was played in Hotel Chocolat stores around the world as part a chocolate inspired playlist.
