Good Vibes at the Dymchurch Sunshine Centre

Matt and Kirsty Grogan have been on their own personal spiritual journeys for a number of years, and now, through the Sunshine Centre in Dymchurch, they are giving back to their local community.

How did you begin your own spiritual journey and what prompted you to start sharing these services with others?

We both had a different journey. Kirsty developed from an early age, seeing Spirit as a child. Throughout her life, she had numerous experiences and never felt alone. While pregnant with her third child, she trained to be a professional healer and started her mediumship journey.

From my early twenties, I would see different people and would know when someone would have a baby, something I thought was a party trick at first, due to my lack of understanding, but later to understand this was Spirit.

We felt we wanted to share the knowledge we had acquired and wanted to make our courses, church, and events affordable for all, rather than the extortionate prices we had seen or paid ourselves. We also wanted to give back to our local area and provide Spiritual development and services as well as demonstrations of mediumship for those who wished to access them. We are trained and accredited to administer our services, but none are substitutes for medical advice, as we work alongside any medical professional as complementary therapists.

Do you find you get any sceptics coming along to the Centre?

We hope that people coming to the Centre will make a decision on whether they believe in Spirit and communication based on their own experiences and the evidence given by the medium. The role of any medium is to give good evidential mediumship which is not generalised but is specific and proves to the recipient who they have. We are not trying to convert anyone to our beliefs but wish to share those. We want to make everyone’s experiences of The Sunshine Centre uplifting and enjoyable and that people go away safe in the knowledge that their loved ones are always with them.

People may be sceptical and this is a good thing. It is good to be sceptical and we hope that by the end of the evening, if they have received a message, we have gone some way to challenging their thinking. It may not be absolute, but that they consider what is. No one should tell you what to do or what to believe, that is down to the individual. What people believe is individual and therefore, we see people coming through our doors from all faiths, agnostics and atheists. You do not have to have a faith to attend our centre.

What would you say to someone thinking about coming along?

What we would both say to people coming to the centre is: feel free to come in. We welcome everyone. You may enter the Sunshine Centre a stranger but you will always feel welcome and we hope at the end, will leave as a friend. We provide a warm and caring environment for all.
